Frequently Asked Questions

Complex questions. Simple Answers.

What makes Everest Advisory Partners different from other CPAs?

We go beyond annual tax preparation to provide year-round strategic partnership. Our quarterly review approach means you're never left wondering if a business decision will have unintended tax consequences. We proactively identify opportunities throughout the year—not just during tax season—and our clients consistently tell us the difference is having an advisor who actually knows their business and financial goals.

How much do your services cost?

Our fees are customized based on the complexity of your situation and the level of service you need. We offer everything from comprehensive year-round advisory relationships to project-based services for specific needs. During your initial consultation, we'll discuss your situation and provide transparent pricing options that align with the value we'll deliver. Contact us to schedule a conversation about your specific needs.

I'm behind on my tax filings. Can you help me get caught up?

Absolutely, and you won't be judged for it. We've helped many clients resolve unfiled returns, IRS notices, and back tax situations. Our approach is compassionate and strategic—we'll help you gather documentation, prepare the outstanding returns, communicate with the IRS on your behalf, and establish a manageable payment plan if needed. The relief our clients feel after finally getting this behind them is worth every step of the process.

What should I bring to my first meeting with you?

For your initial consultation, just bring yourself and any questions you have. We'll discuss your situation, goals, and concerns to determine how we can best help. If you decide to move forward, we'll provide a detailed checklist of documents we'll need—which typically includes prior tax returns, financial statements, and relevant business or personal financial records. We make the process as simple as possible.

How often will we communicate throughout the year?

That depends on your service level, but our comprehensive clients typically meet with us quarterly for strategic planning reviews. Between meetings, you'll have access to our team via email and phone, plus a secure client portal for document sharing and communication. We also proactively reach out when we see opportunities or when regulatory changes affect your situation. You're never left wondering—we keep you informed.

Do you only work with businesses, or do you help individuals too?

We serve both business owners and individuals. Whether you're navigating complex business tax strategy, managing personal investments, planning for retirement, or dealing with a major life transition, we provide the expertise and personalized guidance you need. Many of our clients work with us in both capacities—we help them optimize their business structure while also managing their personal tax planning.

Can you help me if I'm already working with another accountant?

Yes. Some clients transition to us completely, while others engage us for specific projects like IRS representation, entity restructuring, or a second opinion on their current tax strategy. We're happy to collaborate with your existing team or provide a fresh perspective on your situation. Many clients discover they've been missing significant opportunities and choose to make the switch after seeing the difference strategic planning makes.

What happens if I get audited by the IRS?

If you're our client and you receive an audit notice, we handle it. We'll represent you before the IRS, manage all communication, gather necessary documentation, and work to resolve the matter as efficiently as possible. Our audit representation is included in our comprehensive service packages, and we also offer it as a standalone service. You'll never face the IRS alone.

Do you work with clients outside of Alabama?

Yes, we work with clients across multiple states. Tax planning and preparation can be handled effectively regardless of location, and we're experienced in multi-state tax compliance for businesses and individuals with operations or income in multiple jurisdictions. We leverage technology to serve our clients seamlessly—most communication happens via video calls, phone, and our secure portal.

How quickly can you prepare my tax return?

Our timeline depends on the complexity of your situation and when you engage us, but we prioritize both accuracy and timeliness. For existing clients who've worked with us throughout the year with quarterly planning, tax preparation is streamlined because we've already been managing your strategy. For new clients, we'll provide a realistic timeline during your initial consultation. That said, we never sacrifice quality for speed—we'd rather file an accurate return on extension than rush a return that misses opportunities or creates problems.
